初級日常会話英語＋西語講義 12

VOA の Let’s Learn English で日常英会話の続きです。今日もスピードアップして２レッスンです。 Lesson 12 の Meet my family と Lesson 13 の Happy birthday, William Shakespeare  です。

早速 Lesson 12 のサマリーです。両親、兄弟、叔父叔母、従兄弟、姪等家族関係についてです！
Anna is feeling homesick. Marsha helps her by listening to her talk about her family. アナはホームシックです。マーシャはアナが家族について話すのを聴いてやります。

① In fact, this park reminds me of my home very far away. 直訳：本当にこの公園は遠くにいる私の家族を思い出させてくれます。→日本語らしい訳：この公園にくると遠くの家族を思い出します。
② They are rodeo clowns.  They make jokes at a rodeo. They make people laugh.
ロデオ・クラウンです。ロデオにジョークをいいます。人を笑わせます。
③ He’s a chicken farmer. 養鶏家です。

④ They raise sheep and make sweaters. 羊を飼ってセーターを作っています。
⑤I like remembering my old home, too. 私の故郷を思い出すのも好きです。
⑥ This is a family tree. 私の家系図です。

It’s a Sunday afternoon in Washington, D.C. Anna is bored. She finds something interesting to do when she hears music playing. ワシントンの日曜の午後です。アナは退屈しています。音楽が聞こえてきて面白そうなことを見つけますが！

⑥ President – n. the head of the government in some countries
大統領：いくつかの国の政府のトップ
⑦ puppet – n. a doll that is moved by putting your hand inside it or by pulling strings or wires that are attached to it
操り人形：手を中に入れたり、結び付けられた紐やワイヤーで動く人形
⑧ Queen – n. a woman who rules a country and who usually inherits her position and rules for life  女王：国を率い、大抵その地位や生活習慣を引き継ぐ女性
