今回のテーマは人を描写し比較する方法 Ways to describe and compare people です。このようなたわいもない会話が聞き取れるようになってくると日常会話が楽しくなってきます。
1 I met a woman who looks just like you. 君によく似た女性にあったよ！
2 No one is this handsome. こんなハンサムはいないよな！ * this は自分を指します。
3 Are you making fun of me? 私をからかってるの？
4 Her face looks likeyours. 彼女の顔は君(の顔)に似てるよ！* yours はあなたの顔を指します。
5 She is very difficult. We look alike. 彼女はとても気難しい！私たちはよく似ている。 * difficult はここでは 頑固な、理性的でない stubborn or unreasonable の意味です。
6 She’s not nervous or shy. She’s mean. 彼女は神経質でも恥ずかしがり屋でもない。不愉快なやつだ。* mean はケチな、意地悪な、ひどい、不愉快ななどなど！

今回は、更に come と fall についてみてみましょう。come 来る、fall 落ちる！この意味をご存じない方はおられないでしょう。これに前置詞がくっつくだけで多様な意味に使えるのです。難しい単語の代わりをしてくれます。
まずは come からです。動画で例文を確認してください。
1 come across= to find something by accident 偶然見つける 2 come along= to acompany someone * 誰かについて行く、これが along の感覚です。 3 come back= to return 戻ってくる 4 come off= something becomes separated or unstuck 剥がれる 5 come on= ①exclamation or encouragement 誰かを勇気つけるための大丈夫だよ！ ②to stop doing ridiculous バカなことをするのを止めさせる
6 come out= to appear 出て来るという感じです。 7 come over= to come to someone’s house 誰かのうちに行く 8 come through= to produce or to deliver a result 持ち直す 9 come up= to appear 予期しない不都合や難問が現れる 10 come up with= to create or invent something でっち上げる
次は fall の phrasal verbs です。
1 fall apart= ①literally to break into pieces バラバラになる ②to become emotionally upset 感情的に動揺する 2 fall back= to retreat, to go back 軍が退却する 3 fall back on= to have the option to use something else, to use a second option 上手くいかない時の back -up plan を持つ 4 fall behind= not to make sufficient progress 予定より遅れる 5&6 fall down/ fall over= to fall to the ground 地面に倒れる、落ちる
7 fall for= ①to fall in love 恋に落ちる ②to believe a lie or a srory 嘘や作り話を信じる 8 fall off= to detach from a bigger object 何かから落ちる 9 fall out= ①something accidentally goes out of some enclosed space 狭い場所からはみ出して落ちる、歯が抜ける ②to have an argument with someone 議論する、言いあうa falling out は名詞形で言い合いのこと 10 fall through= to be unsuccessful 失敗する 手の平から落ちる感じです。
