昔々あるところに！浦島太郎の玉手箱に一寸法師の打ち出の小槌！正直じいさんと欲張りばあさん！日本昔話の定番です！短いお話を英語で話せるようになる！スペイン語でもいくつか覚えてみんなに言ってみる！

すると日常会話だけでなく、スピーチやプレゼンでも活用できます。役に立つ表現や単語もたくさん覚えられること間違いなしです。お子さんの英語教育に熱心なお母さんも是非ご一緒に！

とっておきの教材は、バイリンガル女優早見優さんがやっていた Yu can do it の昔話コーナーです。取り上げられた昔話は43話もあり、たっぷりとYou Tube で勉強できます。特に a や the 、冠詞の使い方に気をつけるのも面白いと思います。

ここでは2つだけ載せておきますが、是非他の昔話にも挑戦してみてください。では動画画面を click してください！ご存知桃太郎と花咲か爺さんです。

昔々あるところに：定番の Once upon a time in a far away land,
おじいさんとおばあさんが：an elderly couple,
おじいさんは山に芝刈りに：the old man went to the mountain to gather firewood,
おばあさんは川へ洗濯に：the old woman went to the river to wash clothes,

大きな桃がどんぶりこ：a large peach came floating down the river,
2人は桃を食べようとしました：They decided to eat the peach.
半分に切ったとき：when they cut it in half,
元気な男の子が飛び出してきました：an energetic baby boy jumped out from inside the peach,

大喜びしました：they ware overwhelmed with happiness,
大事に育てました：they raised him with every ounce of love,
丈夫な男に育つ：grown to become a strong boy,

悪い鬼が住む鬼ヶ島に：I’m going to Onigashima Island to defeat the evil demons,
きびだんご：sweet dumplings, * dumpling は餃子や焼売、小籠包などにも使います。
犬とサルとキジ：a dog, a monkey and a pheasant,
鬼ヶ島へ向かいました：they headed to Onigashima Island,

桃太郎が攻撃と叫び、犬が噛み、サルが引っ掻き、キジが突つきました：Momotaro yelled, “Attack” and the dog bit, the monkey scratched, and the pheasant peched the demons,
参りました：You got me! *私はあなたに捕まりました！という感じです。
もう二度と悪いことはしないように：You will never do anything evil again,
末長く幸せに暮らすことができましたとさ：They ware able to live happily ever after.

昔々あるところに：A long time ago in a far away place,
正直爺さん：an honest old man,
欲深爺さん：a greedy old man,

私の畑をめちゃくちゃにしおって：You wrecked my field,
犬のシロがあるところを吠えました：Shiro was barking at certain spot,
シロが小判をザクザク発見：Shiro found a bunch of gold coins,
いくら掘っても：no matter how much Shiro dug, *高校でやりましたね！

シロのお墓を掘る：to dig a grave for Shiro,
木を切って臼を作る：they cut a morter from the tree,
お餅が小判に変わる：sticky rice cakes turned into a gold coin, *おにぎりは rice ball です。

正直爺さんは嘆き悲しみ、灰を畑に蒔きました：the nice old man grew sad and took the burnt ash and spread it over the field,
枯れ木の上に：onto all the wilted trees,
綺麗な桜の花になりました：turned into beautiful cherry blossoms,

如何でしたか！動詞をたくさん覚えられますね！猿カニ合戦、鶴の恩返し、かぐや姫、こぶとりじいさん、金太郎、かちかち山、浦島太郎、一寸法師、わらしべ長者などなど！いいですね！
