＜安倍総理のスピーチ＞
① We must never repeat the horrors of war again.（戦争の惨禍を繰り返してはならない）

② The brave respect the brave.（勇者は勇者を敬う)

③ The world needs the spirit of tolerance and the power of reconciliation now.(今こそ世界が寛容の精神と和解の力を必要としている）

④ “With malice toward none, with charity for all… let us strive on… to do all which may achieve and cherish a… lasting peace among ourselves and with all nations.”(「誰にも、悪意を抱かず、慈悲の心で、永続する平和をわれわれの間にすべての国々と共に大切に守っていくために尽力させたまえ」というリンカーンの言葉）

＜オバマ大統領のスピーチ＞
① an historic gesture that speaks to the power of reconciliation and the alliance between the American and Japanese peoples; a reminder that even the deepest wounds of war can give way to friendship and lasting peace.（今回の訪問は、日米の人々の和解の力と同盟を示す歴史的なものである。そして、戦争の深い傷でさえ、友情と永続的な平和に変えることができると思わせてくれるものである。）

② The character of nations is tested in war, but it is defined in peace.(国家の品性は戦時で試されるものだが、それは平和の下で明確になる)

③ Wars can end. The most bitter of adversaries can become the strongest of allies.（戦争は終わらせることができる。最も激しく戦ったもの敵同士が、最も強い同盟国になれるのだ。）

④ It insists that we strive to be what our Japanese friends call otagai no tame ni — “with and for each other.”(日本の友人がいう「お互いのために」努力しなければと）

⑤ I hope that together, we send a message to the world that there is more to be won in peace than in war; that reconciliation carries more rewards than retribution.(私はあなたと共に戦争よりも平和によって勝ち取れるものがあるのだということ、報復によるよりも和解からより多くの恩恵が得られるのだというメッセージを世界に発信したい）
