これまで基本の発音をみっちりとやってきましたのでみなさんの listening 能力は相当改善されたものと思います。

繰り返しになりますが、英語も西語も動詞が大事！なぜかというと名詞形で覚えても使えません。動詞で覚えるとすぐに使えます。まず今日は英語から！英語では drink が「ドリンク」と「飲む」のように名詞と動詞で同じスペルのものが多い。このような単語をたくさん覚えたら一挙に語彙力倍増ですよ！

① eメール(e-mail)：「eメールする」という動詞でも使えます。スカイプ(skype) も動詞で OK です。
I’ll e-mail to you tomorrrow. I wonna skype with you later.

② アップ(up)：to increase the amount or level of something *動詞で「何かの量やレベルを増やす」の意
They’ve upped thier offer by a further 5%.(上乗せした）

③ ダウン(down) : to drink or eat something quickly *食べ過ぎ飲み過ぎでダウンするの意
He downed three beers with huge steak.（でっかいステーキとビール３杯でダウンした）

④ ブック(book)： to arrange with a hotel, restaurant etc *これはご存知ですね！
I’ve booked a table for two tonihgt.(予約した）

⑤ プール(pool)：to increase in amount in one part of the body（うっ血する）
Inactivity causes blood to pool in the legs.（運動不足が足をうっ血させた）

⑥ ファンド(fund)：to provide the money for a program or organization (お金を提供する）
A group of professionals funded his college education.(資金提供した）

⑦ スペアー(spare)： to save someone or something from difficulty (困難から救う）
The new mobile application spares users from paying excessive fees.

⑧ コーナー(corner)：to put someone or something in a place where escape is impossible (追い詰める)
They cornered the mad dog in an alley.(彼らは狂犬を路地に追い込んだ）

⑨ ディシプリン(discipline)：to punish or to teach a lesson *罰したり諭したりすること
Parents discipline their children in different ways.（躾けた）

⑩ ドラフト(draft)：to make a rough version of something（案を作成する）
She drafted a welcome speech during her short break.

11 カウンター(counter)：to go against something（対抗する）
The company countered income losses by reducing its staff.（損失を人員削減で対応した）

12 スタント(stunt)：to stop or slow down growth*成長を止めたりスローダウンさせる
The government crisis stunted economic growth.（経済成長を停滞させた）

13 ショーケース(showcase)：to display（展示する）
The new smartphone showcases modern design trends.

14 スポーツ(sport)：to wear something to get people’s attention *「人目をひくために着る」
She sported a blue dress at the party. *形容詞はよくご存知の sporty です。
